The British Empire is a main character, and some would argue protagonist, of Poisonous Mapping's Alternate History of Europe: Allegiance. Although his actions appear to be for good causes, his motives are far more sinister.

War for Greece[]
In response to the indirect ultimatum that Italy gave Greece and Bulgaria, Britain and France guaranteed the independence of Greece, as they denied Italy's offer. A year later, Italy and Bulgaria declared war on Greece for not willingly joining the alliance, and thus Britain and France declared war on Italy and Bulgaria. Britain and France quickly took Libya and eventually pushed through the Italian peninsula. Bulgaria surrendered soon after that.
