Pinta is a free and open-source raster graphics editor heavily inspired by Paint.NET. Pinta shares similar features and the same layout with Paint.Net, such as layer support and effects. Pinta can run on Windows, MacOS and Linux computers.
Pinta does not see much use by mappers as the vast majority of mappers use Windows computers, so they use Paint.NET. Mappers also use more advanced image editors such as Photoshop or GIMP.
