Saphirkartierung (also known as Sapphire) is a mapper that starting doing mapping in April 2014, however, this was under a separate channel, which can be found here. He owns the title of being the longest-lasting mapper, being active for more than five years. His original YouTube channel is now six years old.

History in Mapping[]

2014[]

On April 7, 2014, Sapphire made his first mapping video. But, this not uploaded until December 2015. He had created the channel but never thought to upload until he had gotten better.

2015[]

Sapphire uploaded his first video on December 7, 2015, and accumulated a total of 15 subscribers by the end of 2015.

2016[]

Sapphire's old channel would go through two name changes in 2016 from TheRedMapper to Trent Mapping and from Trent Mapping to Ruby Mapper. On August 16, Sapphire's first channel hit 100 subscribers. Sapphire would launch a new channel for mapping content on December 27, 2016, named Sapphire Mapping.

2017[]

After growing the channel throughout the early months of 2017, the Sapphire Mapping YouTube channel would hit 100 subscribers on April 18, 2017. Around the same time, a Google+ community was created that would be extremely influential on Sapphire's history in mapping's community: the Mappers University of Arts (or MUA). While meeting new members of mapping's community, Sapphire would end up being added to a Skype group chat that was called The Call Group. The mappers Wonderwaffle, Cheezewafflz, BlueCon, and many more were in this group chat.

Later in June, the MUA would hold an election to decide its new owner. Sapphire decided that he would run for this position and he won the subsequent election. However, due to the controversy that the election system spawned, all future elections in the MUA were canceled and Sapphire was demoted to a moderator position.

Sapphire would be repromoted to owner in September. A month later, BlueCon would resign from his position as owner, and CheezeWafflz and Sapphire agreed to replace him with Wakean. Later in the same month, Northern, the primary owner of The Mapping Union (a successor community to LV's TMC), reached out to the MUA's (now Mapperverse's) owners, requesting a partnership that would "further integrate mapping's communities on Google+." Sapphire was the first to respond to this request soon after Northern posted it. The result of the first round of conversations pertaining to Mapperverse and TMU was the G+ Treaty Organisation (or G+TO). The G+TO laid the groundwork for the eventual unification of Mapperverse and TMU into The Mapping Community (now known as The Second Mapping Community) on November 21, 2017.

2018[]

Sapphire would be demoted from his position as owner of TMC in the superelections. On April 6, Sapphire was repromoted as moderator for a short time under Diamel.

In May 2019, CheezeWafflz, BlueCon, and Royal would come together to launch Mapperverse for a second time after growing displeased with TMC in the state it was in at the time. After a while, both CheezeWafflz and Royal left Mapperverse, so BlueCon promoted Sapphire to replace them. However, this venture would fail as a whole and the Mapperverse Google+ Community page was deleted in late June.

Decade of Mapping

About a week later on July 7, Sapphire would upload "Decade of Mapping" which celebrated the history of mapping as a whole and its "ten-year journey" as he called it.

Later that month, Sapphire created MappingX, a mapping news service, but the account has been continuously inactive since September 2018. In September, Sapphire was made Vice Owner of TMC, along with Plakeland, after the resignation of the current Vice Owner pair. On November 26, Owner Galack resigned, breaking the owner pair, meaning Galack and Frkon would be demoted and Plakeland and Sapphire would become owners. On December 2, 2018, a raid occurred on TMC, leading to its deletion. The community would be reestablished, but it would never reach the height it once was at.

On December 26, Sapphire would begin what would become his longest-running series, Alternate Future of Asia.

2019[]

Split

Sapphire announcing his split from MappingX to create Mapping News Broadcasting

On February 9, 2019, after inactivity by both the staff of the server and the server members, Sapphire resigned from his position as owner of TMC. He named his successor to be Platine. Alternate Future of Asia | Season 1 became Sapphire's longest-running season on February 23, 2019. On March 12, 2019, Sapphire would launch Mapping News Broadcasting (MNB), and this marked Sapphire's second split from MappingX.

On March 30, 2019, Sapphire hit 1000 subs with the help of Kyiv Mapping and GGG502. On April 5, 2019, Sapphire reached his five year anniversary of doing mapping. The next day, Sapphire's term as Vice President ended in the Community of Mappers (also known as CoM). However, he became a Representative in the House of Representatives.

MNB surpassing MappingX

On April 28, 2019, Sapphire's mapping news account became the largest mapping news account on Twitter, surpassing MappingX.

After being Vice President and Representative in the Community of Mappers, Sapphire ran for president in the Community of Mappers in May. He was the only candidate running, but only got 66.70% of the vote. He was sworn in on June 6, 2019.

Inaugural address

Sapphire's inaugural address

Being the first president to write an inaugural address, Sapphire vowed a "...return to normalcy..." among other things in his inaugural address after the May Resignation Cris During mid-June, the record for the highest amount of messages in one day in the server was broken consistently for three days in a row on June 17, June 18, and June 19. Before the activity spike, the highest amount of messages the server had in one day was 2990 messages, but on June 19, 2019, the highest amount of messages in one day up until that point was reached at 10174.

On the night of July 2, Blackbird reached out to Sapphire and told him that he wanted to schedule a public debate since Blackbird was planning to challenge Sapphire in the July 2019 elections. Sapphire agreed. Many people would watch the debate in the CoM Discord Server, and it would go on mostly without a hitch. However, toward the end of the debate, Ceplio grew displeased with the way Blackbird and Sapphire were answering questions and announced his campaign for President of CoM, arguing that he had the right to join in on the debate. Infraction followed suit and did the same. Because of this, the debate moderator ended the debate early.

A couple of hours later, Sapphire announced that he would be going on a break for 48 hours, citing stress from sources in his personal life. When people attempted to joke around with Sapphire about him taking a break, he would snap back at them. Because of the way Sapphire was reacting and other reasons, Representative Synd began an impeachment process on Sapphire for "...threatening [people,] not caring for the server, and neglecting presidential duties." However, the House of Representatives denied this proposal 11–2.

As Sapphire's term continued, Synd grew more and more displeased with Sapphire and again called for Sapphire's impeachment. Synd cited his reasoning as Sapphire abusing presidential power, not caring for the server, and not caring for server activity. However, this failed with Synd being the only Representative to vote in favor of impeachment.

Second impeachment

All while this was going on, Sapphire had been tapering off his activity on his channel, and three days before the second impeachment attempt, on July 13, 2019, Sapphire announced he would not be running for reelection.

Not running again

Sapphire announcing he would not be running again.

The July 2019 Presidential election was incredibly contentious as a result of everything that had occurred during Sapphire's term as president. Ceplio would win the election with 51.7% of the vote, and Sapphire would congratulate Ceplio saying "[I'd like to congratulate Ceplio for] being the president to follow me up. Even though I supported Infraction over him, I believe Ceplio can still do good for the server as a whole. I wish Ceplio luck in leading this server for the next two months (in two weeks). But, as promised, I am officially releasing my jokey and satirical disstrack about Ceplio." It is still up in the CoM announcements channel.

Later in the night of the 29th of July, Sapphire premiered a video called, "Special Announcement". The video was a quitting-mapping video disguised as a normal announcement video. Sapphire has not uploaded a mapping video on his channel since.
