The European Mappers Union, commonly referred to as the acronym EMU, was a mapping Google Plus community that existed in early 2016. It was created and owned by Netryno Mapper.
The European Mappers Union was created by Netryno in order to gather all European mappers into one community[1]. It grew extremely quickly and was the capital of Mapperdonia at one point. EMU collapsed during Darkfall, and in its ashes, the EMU Children were created, one of which later merged into The First Mapping Community. The original EMU community's successor at the time was arguably DEMU , which was later renamed to just EMU, reaffirming its position as the successor of the original.
In its height, the European Mappers Union dominated Mapperdonian politics, and was by far the largest Google Plus community with around 200 members[citation needed]. It was instrumental in mappers making the leap from using Wikia to Google Plus as a platform, and as such, deconstructed TheFutureofEuropes Wiki's monopoly on mapping as a community.
